planning your stay
The Discovery Centre, Ubobo is centrally situated on Highway 69 midway between Gladstone to the north and Monto to south.
FUEL OUTLET: Forgot to fill up? No worries. Ubobo General store sells fuel, gas refills, ice, groceries, milk, fresh fruit, vegies and more. It is also a postal agency and the telephone box made famous by Macca on ‘Australia All Over’ still stands out front.
DUMP POINTS: The nearest dump point is at the Bush Camp, Boynedale, off Highway 69 about 20km north of Ubobo. Otherwise dump points need to be accessed before you enter the valley. Calliope, Boyne River Rest Spot (Benaraby), Miriam Vale, Monto Showground or Biloela.
WATER: There is no reticulated water in the town. Rainwater is available for refilling water bottles and containers. In these times of drought, the careful use of water in our showers is appreciated.

How to find us
Follow Gladstone- Monto Road (Highway 69).
It branches off the Dawson Highway and takes you to the Boyne Valley and the villages of Nagoorin, Ubobo, Builyan, and Many Peaks, crosses the Dawes Range to Kalpowar and continues south to Monto on the Burnett Highway.
Access is also available via Blackmans Gap Road just south of Miriam Vale. Branching from the Bruce Highway, this road crosses the Many Peaks Range into the Boyne Valley.
Both roads and the ranges they cross are sealed with two short sections on either side of the ranges unsealed.
